  • 380 grams Caramel
  • 1 2/3 cup Plain Flour
  • Vegetable Oil to deep fry

Instructions

1. Place butter and 1 1/4 cups water in a saucepan over moderate heat; cook and stir for 3 minutes or until melted and combined. 2. Add flour and baking powder; cook and stir for 2 minuted or until mixture comes away from side of pan. 3. Transfer to a heatproof bowl. Cool slightly 4. Heat oil in a large heavy-based saucepan over moderate heat (oil is ready when a cube of bread crisps quickly without absorbing oil) 5. Line a baking tray with baking paper 6. Spoon dough into a cloth piping bag fitted with a 1.5cm star nozzle. Pipe 12 x 12cm lengths of dough onto prepared rety, cutting ends with a sharp knife. 7. Using a spatula, transfer churros (in batches) to hot oil. 8. Deep-fry for 4 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. 9. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to paper towel to drain. 10. Serve with caramel or melted chocolate
